How to Estimate the Grade You Need Before Finals
Separate current score, final exam weight, and grading scale before deciding what score you need.
A target grade is easier to plan when your current score, final exam weight, and grading scale are separated. Mixing those numbers usually leads to a wrong target.
Use a final grade percentage to estimate the score needed on the remaining work. If your school reports GPA, compare the result with a 10 point GPA calculator or a 100 point GPA calculator depending on the scale your class uses.
Check the syllabus before trusting the result. Extra credit, dropped assignments, and category weights can change the needed score.
